Teia Marina Ciulacu and the volunteers from FuturePlus – the Association for Sustainable Development have coordinated another planting campaign within the first and oldest project of the association, the afforestation project called “Adopt a tree!”. This project was launched 12 years ago, and since then over 700k sqm have been afforested in southern areas of Romania, with over 500k seedling plants and with 10k+ volunteers.
“Adopt a Tree!” project focuses on the formation of forests, that is to say the creation of forest belts, which can provide the necessary oxygen for many families in the area, can protect the roads from being covered with snow, can increase the productivity of the agricultural lands and can prevent unnecessary expenses of the state.
Teia coordinates the strategic pillar of the AAR called Alumni to Society, through the program launched in 2016 by AIESEC Alumni Europe called Alumni Theme Program (ATP). AIESEC Alumni Romania aligns itself at the European level with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through initiatives focused on quality education decent work and economic growth, good health and well-being, and climate action.
Teia entered the project “Adopt a Tree!” in this year’s “Break out of the routine” challenge, and she can be voted with a like, comment or share by April 25th. The announcement of the winning project will be made at the European Regional Alumni Conference 2019 (ERAC) at the end of April.
